Article: GET GLOWING SKIN

GET GLOWING SKIN

GET GLOWING SKIN

Hands up if you want radiant skin. Who doesn’t? Unfortunately,  poor diet, stress and environmental damage can take their toll on our complexion. But fear not! Here are my top tips to bring back your healthy-looking glow from the inside, out.

Exfoliation

If you find that your skin is a little lacklustre then it might be from a build-up of dead skin cells and dehydration. Try using a face scrub once or twice a week to buff your skin and lift away dead skin cells for a brighter and smoother complexion. It’s best to exfoliate at night to slough away daily grime.

Vitamins

You would usually associate vitamin C with your morning cup of orange juice, but this antioxidant brightens skins and helps to fade sun spots that make your skin look dull. Vitamin C stimulates collagen production for younger-looking skin and also helps to protect your skin against environmental aggressors.

Vitamin A is another must-have ingredient to incorporate into your skincare because it helps to even skin tone, lighten sun-induced age spots and boost skin radiance. This powerful antioxidant also protects the skin from free radicals that can break down collagen and contribute to fine lines and wrinkles. This makes vitamin A great for delaying signs of ageing. I really like Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil, which contains vitamin C, vitamin A and moisturising almond oil.

Moisturiser

Dull skin is usually a sign that your skin is dehydrated. Once you have cleansed, exfoliated and applied a facial oil, slather on a good moisturiser all over your face and neck to bring life back to your complexion.

Brightening face mask

If your skin needs extra help then treat yourself to a radiance boosting face mask after cleansing and exfoliating your skin. Try to limit your use of face masks to twice a week.

Overhaul your diet

Regularly drinking alcohol and not enough water can dehydrate the skin, which dulls the complexion. So fill up a reusable bottle with water and make it your mission to drink at least two litres a day!

SPF

After using a vitamin C and vitamin A infused facial oil, make it a habit to apply sunscreen – even in winter. A high SPF will protect your skin from UV damage and slow down signs of ageing.

Don’t forget your body

Using a body scrub regularly sloughs away dead skin cells and boosts blood circulation, making your skin look more vibrant and youthful. I love using Dr Botanicals Coconut Oil Rejuvenating Body Exfoliating Bar as this cleanses, exfoliates and hydrates the skin. It’s a shower multi-tasker! It’s also a very ethical product because it is vegan friendly and does not come in plastic packaging. It also smells divine!

Don’t forget to apply body cream to lock in moisture. I usually choose body creams that contain shea butter because it leaves my skin soft and hydrated for a long time. I love Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose & Shea Butter Body Cream because it isn’t greasy and absorbs into the skin quickly.
